THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE VIETNAM - INDIA ART CAMP IN 2022 AND THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE ART EXHIBITION WITH THE THEME “BEYOND AND BENEATH ARTS EXCHANGE"


On November 8, 2022, the Faculty of Fine Arts & Design of Van Lang University collaborated with the Indian World University of Design and Kekkeyellam Foundation to hold the closing ceremony of the Viet Nam - India Art Camp in 2022 and the opening ceremony of the art exhibition with the theme “Beyond and Beneath Arts Exchange”.
MA. Artist Phan Quan Dung - Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, said: "After a week of creation, artists from both Vietnam and India created 30 works. These works are applied creative color schemes, unique ideas, and emotional meanings, integrate the cultures of the two countries and demonstrate the strong cooperation relationship between Vietnam and India. In the future, we hope that Vietnam and India will have many programs to connect the relationship between the two countries, not only in fine arts but also in many other fields.”
At the creative camp, through using acrylic colors on canvas and combining flexible and creative color schemes, as well as materials, 29 Vietnamese and Indian painters have produced 30 unique artworks, showing a multi-dimensional view, vividly reflecting many aspects of environmental protection, sustainable development, social life, containing the cultural interference of Vietnam and India. The artworks were exhibited from November 8th to 13th, 2022, at Van Lang University.
Mr. Binoy Varghese – Kekkeyellam Foundation, shared: “It is the first time Indian artists have come to Vietnam. We bring the beauty of our country, people, and cultural values to Van Lang University and the Vietnamese people. I hope that the cooperation between India and Van Lang University continues to develop."

Previously, at Van Lang University, in April 2021, The International Workshop and Conference on Graphic Art Vietnam - International 2021 attracted 40 artists and lecturers from specialized universities. In May 2020, the International Art Design Exhibition in 2020 through the internet platform attracted experts and students from 13 countries to attend, with nearly 400 works. In April 2019, the "Art for Society" international creative camp gathered more than 70 domestic and foreign artists to participate. International art activities affirm Van Lang University's pioneering position in art and design training.

According to the orientation to become a center for training and scientific research as well as spreading impacts on society, Van Lang University promotes cultural exchanges, enhances understanding between Vietnam and other countries, and continues to invest in or promote creative activities of the art sector. It is the fourth time Van Lang University has organized a creative camp and international exhibition, aiming to become a destination in education and training activities in Asia and one of the leading universities in the area by 2030.
